Butwal announces to spend Rs 1.633b in FY 2017/18

BUTWAL, September 3: Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City has published a budget of Rs 1.633 billion for the Fiscal Year 2017/18. The municipal council held from August 16-27 passed the budget for FY 2017/18. Mayor Shivaraj Subedi published the budget.

BUTWAL, September 3: Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City has published a budget of Rs 1.633 billion for the Fiscal Year 2017/18. The municipal council held from August 16-27 passed the budget for FY 2017/18. Mayor Shivaraj Subedi published the budget. 


In the budget, Rs 296.1 million has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs 1.166 billion for capital expenditure.

Similarly, Rs 12.3 million has been alloted for consumption expenditure, Rs 36 million for service expenditure, Rs 6 million for capacity development programs, Rs 133.5 for social security allowance, Rs 341 million for central planning, Rs 377.1 million for municipal level planning and programs, Rs 32.5 million for promotional programs, Rs 28.5 million for social development programs, Rs 80.8 million for ward-level planning and programs, and Rs 300 million for Secondary Towns Integrated Urban Environmental Improvement Project.   


For the expenses mentioned above, Rs 107.5 million has been estimated to be collected from local revenue, Rs 46.7 million from service charges, Rs 37.2 million from service flow charge, Rs 700,000 from sales income, Rs 1.6 million from resources mobilization and Rs 2.3 million from bonus and interest dividend, and Rs 45.8 million from other sources. 

Likewise, Rs 28.5 million is estimated to be collected from loans and aids, Rs 72.5 million from consumer’s participations, Rs 31 million from deposit from last year.


Toward women development projects, Rs 10.5 million has been alloted and for youth and child development programs Rs 44.6 million has been alloted . For the targeted development programs total of Rs 25 million has been alloted. Similarly, Rs 1.5 million for the development of communication sector has been alloted. Likewise, the fund of Best Journalism Award established by the Sub-Metropolitan city has been increased to Rs 500,000.
