ANNFSU leader Kamal Joshi to remain in custody for police assault case

Joshi was arrested on Thursday for reportedly assaulting police on-duty personnel stationed at Amrit Marg, Thamel. Following the arrest, the District Police Range Kathmandu was granted permission to keep Joshi in custody for an additional week to continue the investigation.

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Kamal Raj Joshi, a permanent committee member of the All Nepal National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU), will remain in custody for seven more days for further investigation into his alleged involvement in assaulting police personnel on duty.


Joshi was arrested on Thursday for reportedly assaulting police on-duty personnel stationed at Amrit Marg, Thamel. Following the arrest, the District Police Range Kathmandu was granted permission to keep Joshi in custody for an additional week to continue the investigation.

According to SP Apilraj Bohora, the spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu, Joshi will be held in custody for seven days on charges of misconduct.


On February 6, Joshi, along with others, allegedly assaulted police constable Jagulal Chaudhary and constable Nagesh Raj Bista while they were on duty at Amrit Marg.
