Nepal to play friendly football against Hong Kong

The Nepal national men's football team will face Hong Kong in a friendly match on June 5.

KATHMANDU, April 23: The Nepal national men's football team will face Hong Kong in a friendly match on June 5.


The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) confirmed the match through its official page, stating it will be held in Hong Kong.

Invited by the Hong Kong Football Association, the friendly match will be part of the official FIFA international match calendar. Earlier, on March 25, Nepal competed against Malaysia in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers but lost 2-0.


Following this, Nepal will face Laos on June 10 in another AFC Asian Cup qualifier. The upcoming friendly match against Hong Kong will serve as a part of Nepal's preparations for the tournament.


Additionally, the SAFF Championship football tournament in Sri Lanka, to be held this month, is also expected to play a key role in the team's preparation.
