KATHMANDU, April 28: Vehicle movement has been restricted today as well on the Maitighar–Baneshwor road section due to ongoing protests by teachers.
According to the traffic police, vehicles heading from Maitighar towards New Baneshwor have been diverted through various routes.
Traffic has been rerouted via Maitighar, Singha Durbar, Ranodip, and Krishna Pauroti, while vehicles coming from New Baneshwor are being operated through the service lane, as per the traffic police.

Similarly, vehicles operating through Jadibuti, Koteshwor, Gwarko, Mitrapark, Maitighar, Thapathali, Kupondole, Tripureshwor, Lainchaur, and Sorakhutte in the Kathmandu Valley are currently running in queues.
According to the traffic police, vehicle movement in other parts of the valley is normal, and vehicles entering and exiting the valley through various checkpoints are also operating smoothly.
Under the leadership of the Nepal Teachers Federation (NTA), community school teachers from across the country have been staging street protests in Kathmandu for nearly a month. They are demanding the immediate implementation of the Education Act.
The protest has also caused difficulties for office goers, college students and other commuters trying to reach their destinations.
