Rejection of twin ordinances uncalled for: Pun

By
BIRATNAGAR, Aug 21: Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said on Tuesday that the President Ram Baran Yadav has demeaned himself by issuing a statement to reject the election related twin ordinances.

He also claimed that the people have been demanding that Yadav be replaced at a time the Constituent Assembly does not exist through which he was elected.[break]

Talking to the media persons in Biratnagar airport, he also expressed his displeasure over the president’s move of resorting to such measures than sending the ordinances back to the government.

"He would have been respected more if he would have sent the ordinances back to the government at a time when the Election Commission has said that the proposed Nov 22 election is not possible," Pun reiterated.

"If the president tries to be too active then it will lead to confrontation," Pun said, adding, "Since the president also has a caretaker status, thus the demand to replace him is also abuzz; he and his advisors should pay heed to these demands."
