KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Two people, who had been absconding after an INTERPOL red corner notice was issued against them on the charge of swindling various people, were arrested in Cambodia and brought to Nepal.
Binu Shakya, a resident of Mankha in Sindhupalchowk district was arrested with the help of INTERPOL's Cambodia bureau and brought to Nepal for further action, said spokesperson of Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki.
Shakya had been absconding after swindling over 40 people out of Rs 52 million, promising them employment in Singapore.

A red corner notice was issued against them on February 2, 2024 after Nepal Police Crime Investigation Department Interpol Branch requested the Interpol to search and arrest accused Binu Shakya and Sujan Acharya of Triyuga Municipality-10 in Udayapur district.
Following the red corner notice from the Interpol, both of them were arrested in Cambodia on September 17, 2024.
Of the two, Sujan was brought to Nepal on October 25. Binu has been handed over at Police Circle, Kalimati, for further action.
