KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday escalated 43.22 points to close at 2,742.88 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,699.66 points and successively increased to reach the day’s high at 2,748.29 points in two and a half hours of trading. The market lost around six points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also added 7.68 points. The daily turnover jumped to Rs 5.66 billion from Rs 3.06 billion on Tuesday.
Among individual companies, 206 were gainers whereas 35 companies were recorded as the losers.
All the 13 groups were the gainers of the day. Of them, life insurance and non-life insurance posted growth of three-digit marks of 237.62 points and 180.03 points, respectively.
Nepal Finance Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 150.95 million. Vijaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the largest of 9.33 percent of its market price. Upper Syange Hydropower Limited by losing 10 percent of its market value was recorded as the topmost loser.
