MANANG, Oct 2: The death toll from the avalanche in the Himlung area of Narphabhumi Rural Municipality-5, Manang, has risen to 15, while one person remains missing, police said.
The missing person has been identified as 38-year-old Pasang Nuri Sherpa of Okhaldhunga. Police said his permanent address was confirmed as Okhaldhunga based on his citizenship details.

The deceased have been identified as Chhebi Bhote and Pasang Bhote of Sankhuwasabha; Birendra Gurung and Aash Gurung of Gorkha; Ghanshyam Rai, Lak Kumar Gurung and Suraj Rai of Khotang; Kalam Budha of Rukum East; Birkh Dhwaj Tamang and Jagat Tamang of Kavrepalanchok; Urkh Dhwaj Bohora of Sindhupalchok; Prem Tamang of Okhaldhunga; and Kriti Bahadur Tamang of Dolakha.
Police said the bodies of Ngima Dorje Tamang and Santabir Tamang, whose addresses and ages were not known, were also recovered.
The search for Sherpa is continuing, police said.
On September 18, 27 Nepali men, including 21 from Himalayan Holiday Company and six from Imaging Nepal Company, had left Kathmandu to establish a base camp in the Himlung area.
They were caught in the avalanche at around 12:45 am on September 27. Of the 27 people caught in the avalanche, 11 were rescued safely, while 16 were initially reported missing.
