KATHMANDU, Oct 2: The death toll from the recent floods and landslides has reached 228, with 25 people still missing.
Police officials said a total of 158 people were left injured in floods and landslides across the country. They are currently receiving treatment.

According to home ministry spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari, 13,071 people have been rescued from flood and landslide-affected areas so far. Search, rescue, and relief operations are ongoing.
He stated that, in addition to providing food and other relief materials for the affected, free treatment is being provided for the injured.
Spokesperson Tiwari stated that the government has given high priority to rescue and relief efforts, and tireless efforts are being made to reopen highways that have been blocked to restore transportation.
However, the government has not been able to reach areas close to the capital. Relief has yet to reach accessible areas like Tikabhairav and Panauti.
