KATHMANDU, June 10: Daily turnover at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) surged to Rs 10.16 billion on Tuesday as the index jumped 25.07 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,653.09 points and went up as high as 2,682.22 points in the first hour and 15 minutes. In the next one hour, the index slid around 12 points before soaring to the day’s high at 2,683.25 points in the last 35 minutes before the market closed for the day.

All the 13 groups were the gainers in the intraday trading. Non-life insurance jumped 153.32 points, along with life insurance and finance groups posting three-digit gains in their indices.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inclined 5.05 points. The daily turnover amount also inclined by around Rs 1.50 billion from Rs 8.68 billion on Monday.
Among the individual companies, 196 were gainers while 52 were the losers. Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited Promoter share had the biggest turnover worth Rs 584.95 million.
Two companies— Pure Energy Limited and Shree Investment Finance Co Ltd--gained the highest of 9.99 percent of their market values. Rawa Energy Development Limited, with a downfall of 6.14 percent, was recorded as the topmost loser.
