KATHMANDU, July 4: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday fell by 9.75 points while the single day turnover jumped to over Rs 4.34 billion.
The secondary market that had been reeling through a daily transaction between Rs 1 billion to Rs 2 billion on an average for the past several weeks, increased by a notable volume after months. On Monday trading, the market opened at 2,086.42 points and closed at 2,076.67 points.
Nepse hits 2-year high after week's broad surge
In the intraday trading, the market reached a maximum of 2,148.15 points. Except four trading groups including life insurance, non-life insurance, trading and mutual fund, the rest of nine groups witnessed drop in their indices.
Shivam Cements had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 175.88 million. The 8.5% BOK Debenture 2086/87 lost the highest percent of its share price whereas CYC Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer.
