KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The second session, or budget session, of the House of Representatives (HoR) dedicated a total of 277 hours and 30 minutes to parliamentary business through 68 meetings over 62 days.
The session endorsed 12 bills, including the Bill to Replace Ordinances. Although the HoR's budget session had begun on May 11 and lasted 145 days, the number of days spent on parliamentary business was 62.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal shared the information with lawmakers on Friday before announcing the conclusion of the session.

According to the Speaker, a total of 35 bills, including the Civil Service Bill, were tabled in Parliament during this period. Similarly, 20 bills were under consideration in the relevant HoR committees.
During this period, agreements reached between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Republic of India regarding mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and long-term power trade were presented to Parliament.
Similarly, the House ratified the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions on labour inspection and forced labor, approved the proposal for membership in the Association of Asian Parliaments, and endorsed the agreement on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction.
On May 30, Prime Minister Balendra Shah sought time in the meeting and responded to queries raised by lawmakers. The HoR held 13 question-and-answer sessions involving seven different ministries.
On September 2, the HoR endorsed a special motion expressing sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and Gorkha.
The budget session of the HoR prorogued at midnight on Friday.
