Restrictions have been placed at entrances of other settlements at Asan, Indra Chowk, Damaitole, Tamsipakha, Nardevi, Dhokatole, Bhurungkhel and Chhetrapati to limit people's mobility.
Only ambulances, fire engines and vehicles belonging to media and vehicles carrying drinking water and daily essentials are allowed to ply.
Local people have been requested to inform the respective ward office when strangers enter their settlements, said KMC's Spokesperson Ishwar Man Dangol. "Anyone defying the lockdown will face action with the help of the central government," he said, adding that KMC has sought help from the central government to limit the mobility of people from one village to another.
