KATHMANDU, March 10: The police arrested Ashish Budhathoki, a fugitive defendant wanted in a rape case, at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General Dinesh Kumar Acharya confirmed that Budhathoki, 27, a resident of Chiyabari, Kamalamai Municipality-2, Sindhuli, was apprehended on Saturday and announced on Sunday.

Budhathoki, who had been absconding, became the target of an international manhunt. After a request from the Sindhuli District Police Office, the National Central Bureau (NCB) in Kathmandu requested Interpol to issue a Red Notice on February 14, 2025.
The police have transferred Budhathoki to the Sindhuli District Police Office for further investigation and legal action, as reported by Nepal Police's Interpol Branch at the Police Headquarters.
