Likewise, 34 animal sheds were completely destroyed and 46 partially damaged, while 13 school buildings sustained partial damage.

The district's major roads, including the Beni-Jomsom, Beni-Darbang and Beni-Baglung routes, have also suffered significant damage. Irrigation systems, drinking water projects, hydropower projects, electricity transmission lines and river control structures were among the other infrastructure affected.

Floods in the Kaligandaki and Myagdi rivers have also increased the risk of riverbank erosion and inundation in surrounding areas.

The District Administration Office said the damage assessment could increase as data collection was still underway.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Gaire said that following rescue and relief operations, post-disaster efforts were now focused on arranging temporary shelters for affected families and carrying out reconstruction work.

He added that an action plan had been prepared to complete the reconstruction of private houses by the second week of Jestha 2083 BS. Responsibilities of local governments and the District Disaster Management Committee have been clearly defined under a 12-point action plan with specific timelines.

Under the existing procedures, disaster-affected people in Myagdi, a mountainous district, are eligible for a grant of Rs 500,000 each to rebuild their private homes.

On October 7, the government declared Beni Municipality and the five rural municipalities of Annapurna, Raghuganga, Malika, Mangala and Dhaulagiri in Myagdi as crisis-hit zones for three months.

In the first phase, the federal government released Rs 4 million to each of these local units to support emergency disaster response efforts.
