KHOTANG, Nov 14: The District Natural Disaster Relief Committee (DNDRC), Khotang, has announced to provide relief amount to 34 households hit by natural disasters in fiscal year 2016/1017. According to the announcement, the DNDRC will distribute a total of Rs 240,000 among the 34 households.
According to the chairperson of DNDRC, Bhogen Yekley, the relief amount will be provided to the victims based their losses. “From the Rs 2,000,000 fund collected by Khotang Society Hong Kong, the relief amount will be provided to households in two municipalities and eight rural municipalities of the district, accordingly,” he said.

Yekley stated that 23 families which have suffered a loss of Rs 500,000 or less will get Rs 5,000 each. Similarly, eight families which have endured the loss of Rs 1,000,000 will be provided Rs. 10,000 each. Likewise, three families which have incurred losses more than Rs 1,000,000 will be given Rs 15,000 each.
According to the DNDRC, in fiscal year 2016/2017, altogether 61 families were affected by natural disasters.
DNDRC will provide the relief amount to the most affected victims on November 20 amidts a function in Diktel, the district headquarters.
