KMC fines Rs 100,000 to RPP for littering public places

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) for littering public spaces during Sunday's rally to welcome former King Gyanendra Shah.

KATHMANDU, March 10: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) for littering public spaces during Sunday's rally to welcome former King Gyanendra Shah.


Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police Inspector Lilaraj Gacha Magar issued a notice: "On March 9, participants in the program organized by your party office polluted the environment by littering indiscriminately and damaging public property, including roads, sidewalks, plants, and railings in areas such as the airport, Tilganga, and Gaushala.”

The notice further reads, “As a result, we have decided to fine you Rs 100,000 under the Solid Waste Management Act, 2068 BS, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Environment and Natural Resources Conservation Act, 2077 BS, and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Finance Act, 2081 BS. Please comply with this directive accordingly.”


RPP and its supporters welcomed Shah when he arrived at Tribhuvan Airport from Pokhara on Sunday afternoon.
