KATHMANDU, March 6: Ten individuals have applied for the post of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). The CEO Selection Committee of NEPSE called for applications on February 24, with the deadline set for Sunday at 5 PM, and a total of 10 applications were received.
Former CEO of CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC) Purna Prasad Acharya, Badri Prasad Pyakurel from Nuwakot, and Narad Kumar Luitel from Sarlahi have applied for the post of CEO.
Other applicants include Yuvraj Dahal, Prabin Adhikari, Chudamani Chapagai, Bimal Kumar Tiwari, Krishna Bahadur Karki, Hemant Basyal, and Mukunda Raj Joshi.

Karki is the former CEO of NEPSE. He had assumed the role when Maoist leader Janardan Sharma was the Finance Minister, and his tenure ended on February 6.
The selection committee will invite five of the applicants to present their work plans and undergo interviews. Following that, the committee will recommend three names for the final selection.
The Council of Ministers will appoint the CEO based on the committee's recommendation. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel had formed a three-member committee on March 3 under the coordination of Financial Sector Management & Corporation Coordination Division Chief Sebantak Pokharel to recommend the CEO.
The committee includes Joint Secretary Amrit Lamsal and Dr Khom Raj Kharel.
