By
KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The crowed swayed and got crazier as he continued to rock at the Police Club, Maharajgunj premises during the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial’s Grand Finale organized by Indian Embassy in Nepal on November 19.

Twelve year old Hemant Brijwasi, the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs, entertained the live crowd as he did his television audience. Brijwasi sat down with Gennext for a chat and shared his experience.[break] Excerpts:

Since when did your singing journey start?

I started proper singing and training from my father and Guru Hukumchand Brijwasi since I was 9 year old. He means everything to me and I blindly follow his teachings.

How do you balance between your career and education?

Well, it is not like I rehearse all day. I give around two to three hours for rehearsal and then concentrate on studies.

Describe your life before and after Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs.

I’m truly honored and thankful to Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Earlier my peers were not that concerned about me, they even tried to ignore me but now many people try to befriend me. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa provided me a platform to showcase my voice, which I am very fortunate to them for. Also I had the opportunity to meet my idol Asha Bhonsle and receive praises from many singing icons of India such as Suresh Wadker, Wadali brothers, Khayyam and Anandji.

How do you plan to paint your future?

I want to be a rock star. I want to take up music in higher studies.

What did you love about Nepal?

Nepal is a great country, I received immense love here. I would definitely love to visit again and do lots of shopping.
