KATHMANDU, Nov 21: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday plunged 31.31 points to close at 2,680.44 points.
The market opened at 2,711.75 points and initially reached the day’s high at 2,722.59 points in the first 11 minutes. But the market went into a straight decline and hit the day’s low at 2,677.23 points when only one minute of trading time was left. The market recovered by around three points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined by 5.53 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 8.25 billion from Rs 7.09 billion on Wednesday.
Among individual companies, only 43 were gainers whereas 197 companies were recorded as losers. All the 13 groups were the losers in the intraday trading. As the life insurance index was down by the largest of 181.15 points, a total of five groups lost three-digit points in their market indices.
Nepal Finance Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 252.41 million. Janaki Finance Company Limited was recorded as the highest loser. Two companies including Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Three Star Hydropower Limited gained the largest of 10 percent of their market values.
