Kathmandu's Chief District Officer (CDO) Jaynarayan Acharya stated that more than 5,000 police officers have been deployed to ensure public safety and smooth daily life, given the multiple protests taking place at the same time.
He also mentioned that over 500 traffic police personnel have also been assigned to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Both Nepal Police and Armed Police Force will be deployed for security. He also mentioned that there are enough police personnel in Kathmandu for this purpose.
“The police will conduct continuous patrolling to ensure the security of the public. We are taking all necessary precautions to prevent any untoward incidents and adequate security measures have been put in place,” said CDO Acharya.
CDO Acharya also mentioned that the protest locations have been spaced out to minimize security risks and manage traffic more effectively.
Security personnel have requested the general public to use alternative routes as traffic may be disrupted during the day. The traffic police have stated that traffic movement in vehicles passing through Durbar Marg, Maitighar, Balkumari and Jawalakhel may be affected today.
Police have urged those traveling through these areas to use alternative roads.
