Hearing on contempt case against five lawmakers, including Home Minister, deferred

The hearing on a writ petition scheduled for today against Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and five lawmakers at the Supreme Court (SC) has been deferred.

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: The hearing on a writ petition scheduled for today against Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and five lawmakers at the Supreme Court (SC) has been deferred.


The SC scheduled Judges Abdul Aziz Musalman and Nityanand Pandey to hear the case in a joint bench.

Advocate Yagya Prasad Adhikari had filed a contempt case against Home Minister and Member of Parliament Ramesh Lekhak, along with lawmakers Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri, Amar Bahadur Thapa, and Mahesh Kumar Bartaula.


In parliament, they voiced their dissatisfaction and expressed their views against the SC's interim order, which instructed them not to implement the infrastructure development program.
