Four metric tonnes of waste collected from Bagmati River clean-up campaign

LALITPUR, Aug 31: The Lalitpur Metropolitan City has come up to take responsibility for the continuation of Bagmati River clean-up campaign.

While taking part in the clean-up campaign at around Thapathali bridge on the occasion of 329th  week of Bagmati- Clean-up campaign today, Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan committed to participating locals to intensify the campaign in Lalitpur area.


He further shared that the local government was planning to enact laws to take action against those who arbitrarily deposit wastes in the river. In today's campaign, over 500 volunteers from different 22 organizations participated and about four metric tonnes of waste were collected.
