KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal (FSF-N) Chairman Upendra Yadav today reiterated that the state should go for local body elections only after an amendment to the constitution.
RJPN is a stranded ship that has lost its compass
"The state should go for all three levels of elections only after addressing Madhes issues through the constitution amendment. Otherwise the Madhesi Front will not accept the election date (if declared without first amending the constitution)," he said, while speaking at a face-to-face program organized by Reporter's Club Nepal in the Capital.
Accusing the opposition CPN-UML and ruling Nepali Congress of double standards on an amendment to the constitution and local body elections, he urged them to shun such practice.
He also stressed for concluding the constitution amendment through Parliamentary process by resuming the long stalled Parliamentary affairs.
On a different note, the former Minister for Foreign Affairs said although there were possibilities in forging a unity between the SSFN and Naya Shakti Nepal, no consultations had been held in this regard so far. RSS
