Three arrested for extorting money in the name securing release of their relative from police custody

According to Kailali Police, three individuals have been arrested for taking a bribe of INR 39,500 from the family members of a person detained during an investigation into a drug-related case, promising to secure his release from custody.

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Three individuals have been arrested for taking money by promising to release detainees held in custody on drug-related charges.


According to Kailali Police, three individuals have been arrested for taking a bribe of INR 39,500 from the family members of a person detained during an investigation into a drug-related case, promising to secure his release from custody.

Those arrested include Rupak Saud, 29, Ramesh Saud, 22 and Harka Saud, 19,  – all residents of Gauriganga Municipality-7 in Kailali.


Assistant Spokesperson Darshan Khadka said that all three arrested individuals are being held in custody by the Kailali Police for further investigation and necessary legal action.
