The man, who returned from Saudi Arabia on Thursday, underwent a lab test at the National Public Health Laboratory Teku, said Ministry spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki.

He is currently receiving medical care in isolation at the Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, and his condition is out of threat.

Nepal recorded its first case of Mpox in June 2023, involving a foreign national who arrived in the country. To prevent the new case, health desks have been set up by the government at Tribhuvan International Airport and other transit points to contain the infection.
