Doctor at Dolpa Hospital tests positive for COVID-19

DOLPA, May 30: The second wave of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)  has affected both residents and health workers in the district. A doctor serving at Dolpa District Hospital tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.

DOLPA, May 30: The second wave of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)  has affected both residents and health workers in the district. A doctor serving at Dolpa District Hospital tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.


According to Tek Bahadur Gurung, focal person for COVID-19, Dr Melina Hamal tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday through an antigen test after feeling unwell for a few days. She has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.

The number of COVID-19 infections reached 123 in Dolpa district with four deaths recorded so far. Also, four people from the district have been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.


According to the health office of the district, there are currently 63 active cases of COVID-19 in the region. So far, 55 people have recovered from the deadly disease in the district. As many as 22 people are admitted to the district hospital and in institutional isolation wards, while others are staying isolated at their homes.
