Of 16,233 COVID-19 tests conducted on Monday, 2,295 tests turn out positive

KATHMANDU, August 30: Of 16,233 COVID-19 tests conducted across the country on Monday, 2,295 tests have turned out positive, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, August 30: Of 16,233 COVID-19 tests conducted across the country on Monday, 2,295 tests have turned out positive, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).


With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 test tally has reached 844,488 including 714,520 recoveries and 10,730 deaths.

According to the health ministry, 11,892 PCR and 4,341 antigen tests were conducted on Monday. Of them, 1,902 PCR and 393 antigen tests turned out positive for COVID-19.


There are currently 35,874 active cases of COVID-19 across the country as of Monday afternoon. Of them, 33,333 are in home isolation, 2,541 in institutional isolation, 568 in ICUs and 160 are on ventilators.


Similarly, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 906 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Of them, 665 were detected in Kathmandu, 103 in Bhaktapur and 138 in Lalitpur districts.


There are currently 20 districts with more than 500 active cases of COVID-19 in Nepal.
