KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The Bagmati Cleanup Mega Campaign has demanded the government completely manage the sewage from Gokarna Dam to Pashupati Aryaghat. The demand has been made after the Bagmati cleaning campaign completed its 506th week, however, the river in the estuary area has not been cleaned.
The campaign has also drawn the attention of the Ministry of Urban Development to speed up the cleaning of both banks of the river up to the Pashupati area. Even after the completion of 30 years since the establishment of the High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization (HPCIDBC) with the aim of flowing clean water in the Bagmati River up to the Pashupati area, the work has not been completed.

The campaign has been running a ‘garden cleaning mega campaign’ for two hours every Saturday morning.
