KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Bibeksheel Sajha Party are set to formally unite on Sunday, marking a significant development in Nepal’s emerging alternative political space.
According to RSP Spokesperson Manish Jha, a joint unification announcement ceremony will be held at 2 PM on Sunday at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu.
RSP-Bibeksheel merger sparks serious inta-party disputes
The event will officially seal the merger between the two parties, which have long shared similar political philosophies centered on reform-oriented, youth-driven, and anti-establishment agendas.
The decision follows a special virtual meeting of the RSP Central Committee on Friday evening, where leaders welcomed the proposal for unification with Bibeksheel and endorsed holding a formal announcement program.
The merger, as per a party leader, will reshape the landscape of Nepal’s non-traditional political forces, bringing together two groups that have previously collaborated on issues of good governance, accountability, and civic-driven politics.
