Newly elected NC President Thapa to assume office today

NC Central Office Secretary Prakash Sharma said office-bearers, CWC members, and provincial presidents have been requested to attend the meeting.

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Gagan Kumar Thapa, newly elected president of the Nepali Congress (NC) through the party’s Special General Convention, is set to assume office on Friday. Former general secretary Thapa was unanimously chosen for the top post at the party’s Second Special General Convention held on January 15.

The newly elected Central Working Committee (CWC) will hold its first meeting later today at the party’s central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur. Scheduled for 1 PM, the meeting will deliberate on preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives election as well as pressing contemporary political issues, according to the party office.


NC Central Office Secretary Prakash Sharma said office-bearers, CWC members, and provincial presidents have been requested to attend the meeting.
