I have been deeply distressed, moody, and restless for the past few months. My life, which once was the hive of activity, with hum of vibrant people stirring up the spirits of soft youth, is now soundless and still, under the brooding clouds of sullen gloom.
In our culture (and by that I mean Nepali and Indian both since I’m a Nepali who’s married and lives in India), a relationship or marriage is hardly ever just about two people. There is a horde of relatives, distant relatives, friends, friends of friends, and even the neighbors involved. All the people around a couple seem to have their own ideas as to what’s best for them.

Wandering around Lakeside in Pokhara, I was fascinated by the paragliders flying just above the beautiful Fewa Lake. Prakriti Nakarmi had always been soft spoken and introvert among her group of friends. She dreaded socializing and couldn’t express herself. But in writing she found her safe haven. She started keeping diary at 12 but soon realized that it would be embarrassing if someone came across it. She then tried her hand on story writing; however it seemed too unembellished for ever changing life of a teenager. It was poem that took her on an expedition of emotions and sensations.
