GANDAKI, Dec 18: Deputy-Speaker of Gandaki Province Assembly, Srijana Sharma has said that women should assert their constitutionally guaranteed rights.


Inaugurating the district-level women workshop organized by Gender and Social Inclusion Committee of Kaski chapter of Nepal Red Cross Society in Pokhara on Saturday, Deputy Speaker Sharma said women should be united to push campaigns for their rights.

She also pointed out the need to assure 33 percent women participation in every sector, adding that women should play an intervening role politically, socially and economically for their engagement and empowerment.


Stating that the Red Cross has been playing a significant role in the relief and rescue of those in need, Deputy-Speaker Sharma urged women to take proactive initiative to be elected to the top post in future local elections.


Vice-President of Kaski chapter of Nepal Red Cross Society, Danda Raj Sharma, said that the Red Cross has dedicated itself to serve humanity even in the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 96 women are participating in a daylong training.
