Woman arrested for fraudulent promises of resolving police case

KATHMANDU, June 28: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested a woman on charges of fraud.


Saroj Shah was arrested on the charge of defrauding the accused under police investigation, promising to resolve their cases.

Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG), Shyam Gyawali, chief of the CIB, said, “We have taken Shah under control after she was found to be involved in defrauding money from the accused, saying she has connections within the CIB.”


Police said that Shah has taken one million rupees from the accused involved in a gold case, promising to take him out of the police custody.
