I will deliver on my election promises: PM Dahal

GORKHA, Jan 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he will fulfill the promises he made before the election. On Wednesday, addressing the 11th Gorkha Festival organized by the Gorkha Industry and Commerce Association in the Gorkha district headquarters, he said, “I have not forgotten any of the promises and confessions I made before the election campaign. I remember all those promises well.”

GORKHA, Jan 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he will fulfill the promises he made before the election. On Wednesday, addressing the 11th Gorkha Festival organized by the Gorkha Industry and Commerce Association in the Gorkha district headquarters, he said, “I have not forgotten any of the promises and confessions I made before the election campaign. I remember all those promises well.”


He congratulated the people of Gorkha saying that he felt proud to be the Prime Minister as a representative of Gorkha district. "Overall development will be my initiative, be it physical infrastructure or electrification, tourism development or herbs commercialization, modernization in agriculture,” said Prime Minister Dahal. He said that Gorkha will play a leading role in the development of Nepal as a whole.


He also said that since Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Physical Infrastructure Minister, is from Gorkha, it will be easier to carry out development and construction works in the district. He added that the work of development will accelerate with the cooperation of all.

Stating that he received a vote of confidence from all political parties as the common Prime Minister, he said that he got an opportunity to serve the nation through an extraordinary process. He said that work will be done on issues such as advancing the Budhi Gandaki Project, construction of Beni Ghat Larke road, and bringing the Palungtar Airport into operation.


Prime Minister Dahal said that previous plans to upgrade roads and connect all municipalities with a road network will be implemented. Saying that the commitments made while taking the vote of confidence in parliament will be realized, he said that receiving almost 100 percent votes in parliament was an opportunity as well as a very big responsibility. "This is a very big responsibility and a matter of pride and also a big challenge," said PM Dahal. He assured to advance the development projects here with the strength of people's support, unity and commitment of political parties.


In the program, Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that he will work according to the plan made during the election. "Gorkha's development will be carried forward in an integrated manner," he said. Rajendra Bajgai, an MP elected from Gorkha-1, said that the prime minister's support is needed to advance the development of Gorkha on the advice and suggestions of the expert group. Nanda Prasad Neupane, district president of Nepali Congress, Gorkha, and  member of Gandaki Provincial Assembly, said that all parties and citizens should be united for the development of the district.


Krishna Kumar Shrestha, chairman of the Gorkha Industry and Commerce Association, informed the Prime Minister about the development of industries, the problems of businessmen ,the prospects of Gorkha, among other issues.
