POKHARA, April 7: CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Khagraj Adhikari has staked his claim to the position of chief minister (CM) of Gandaki Province.


Adhikai submitted a claim for the position of Chief Minister along with the support of Krishna Dhital, who became the provincial speaker from CPN (Maoist Center), and independent MP Rajeeb Gurung (Deepak Manange).

Following the resignation of Gandaki Chief Minister Surendra Pandey due to shifts in the power dynamics at the Center, Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta extended the deadline, as per Article 168(2) of the Constitution, for submitting claims until 3 o'clock on April 8.


In response, CPN-UML swiftly staked their claim this morning.
