DHANGADI, Feb 26: Two junior police officials involved in the successful investigation of the rape and murder case of the 17-year old Bhagarathi Bhatta have been promoted as a reward to their hard work and dedication for their duty.
According to the spokesperson of Nepal Police of Sudurpaschim Province, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukesh Singh, the officials were promoted for their outstanding contribution to resolve mystery surrounding Bhatta’s rape and murder case.
Assistant sub-inspector of Police of Sudurpaschim Province Police Office Dipayal, Padam Thapa has been promoted to Sub-Inspector while police constable serving at the District Police Office, Baitadi, Nara Bahadur Thapa has been promoted to the post of Head Constable.

Five other officers were also provided with cash and other awards for their contribution in the investigation of the case.
Earlier on February 3, Bhagarathi Bhatta, 17 , was raped and murdered on her way to home from school. Her dead body was spotted the next day in the jungle near her house.
Dinesh Bhatta, who was arrested on charge of involvement in rape and murder of Bhagarathi Bhatta, has confessed to the crime.
Dinesh is a Grade XI student in school where Bhatta was studying in Grade XII.
