There were 15 foreigners in crashed plane

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: A plane of Yeti Airlines (N-ANC ATR-72 aircraft) flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara met with an accident in the gorge of the Pokhara Seti River at 11 AM on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: A plane of Yeti Airlines (N-ANC ATR-72 aircraft) flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara met with an accident in the gorge of the Pokhara Seti River at 11 AM on Sunday.


A total of 72 people including four crew members and 68 were on board the plane which took off from Kathmandu airport at 10:33AM. The aircraft was flown by pilots Kamal KC and Anju Khatiwada along with air hostess Srijana Hongchun and Osin Ale Magar. While landing at the Pokhara airport, the aircraft crashed on the bank of Seti River between the old airport and the new airport.

According to the list of passengers and crew members, there are 68 passengers including 15 foreign nationals and three children. Of which 41 are women and 27 are men.


The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal spokesperson Jagannath Niraula said there were 68 passengers including four crew members on the plane. According to him, there are 53 Nepalese and five Indians among the passengers. Apart from that, there were four passengers from Russia, two passengers from Korea, one each from Ireland, Australia, Argentina and France.
