KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Tashi Tshiring Dong won the Baahrakhari Everest Golf Tournament in Gokarna on Saturday.
Dong won the famous golden ball on the count back after being tied with Rabindra Tiwari at 39 points.
Both players scored 23 on the front and 16 on the back nine and then were tied for last six holes at 12 points.
Dong scored seven points on the last three against four points of Tiwari for the title. Tiwari got the runner-up trophy.

Surendra Phuyal got the best gross award with 34 gross points.
Likewise, Kashmira Shah was the winner in the women’s category with 36 points, while Maj Gen Mahesh Bikram Karki was the senior age 60 category and above with 38 points. Shreeyog Basnyat was the junior winner with 31 points.
Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the longest drive while Stephanie Mindi Wei got the closest to the pin.
Winner of the tournament Dong also won the most birdies with five birdies.
The first round of the tournament was played at Kongde Ri, a trekking peak located at an altitude of 4250 meters, four kilometer west of Namche Bazar, setting a world record for any golf tournament played at such an alleviation.
25 players participated in the round. They played 17 holes and remaining players played 18 holes on a stableford format with 3/4 handicap.
The scoring was done over 17 holes score. One worst score was eliminated as per rules laid prior to the tournament to make fair play for all participants.
A total of 84 players took part in the tournament organized by Baarhakhari Media Pvt Ltd. Ncell was the main sponsor of the event.
