KATHMANDU, Oct 21: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has been actively protesting against the arrest of its Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, is set to continue its protests and demonstration in Pokhara today as well. The RSP has decided to demonstrate at 12 PM at Prithvi Chowk.
The RSP said that it will continue its protest against the “political revenge” against Lamichhane, stating that the government has engaged in political vendetta. The RSP has called upon the leaders and workers of the party to participate in the protest. The RSP has been actively protesting daily since Saturday.
RSP seeks explanation from General Secretary Dhakal
Although the Kaski District Administration Office issued a prohibitory order around Sahid Chowk and the District Police Office around Gairapatan, the workers of the RSP breached the prohibitory order and protested at Sahid Chowk on Sunday.
On Sunday, the Kaski District Court granted permission to the police to detain Lamichhane for additional six days for investigation into his alleged involvement in embezzlement of co-operative funds.
