KATHMANDU, Nov 16: The cadres of Nepal Bikram Chand aka Biblav-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) have burned tires at Bhadrakali, Kathmandu as a part of their protest against recent hike in the prices of petroleum products.
Police have arrested those involved in the protest and burning tires to exert pressure on the government to roll back its decision to hike the prices of petroleum products. The party had earlier called a nationwide general strike on Tuesday.

A large number of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel have been deployed in major thoroughfares of the city to take control of those enforcing the shutdown. Police have arrested CPN cadres from different parts of the country for enforcing Nepal banda.
