NOC hikes prices of petroleum products

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has raised prices of different petroleum products. The state-owned oil monopoly has also raised the price of aviation fuel.



The board meeting of NOC held on Tuesday increased price of petrol by Rs 5 per liter. Consumers will now need to pay Rs 130 for a liter of petrol. [break]



According to acting managing director of the NOC, Suresh Kumar Agrawal, the NOC decided to raise the prices of different petroleum products to cope with the soaring cost of imports amid strengthening US dollar against Nepali rupees.



Similarly, the NOC raised prices of diesel and kerosene by Rs 3. A liter of diesel will now cost Rs 103. Likewise, NOC  raised price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) by Rs 7 per liter to Rs 137 per liter for domestic airlines.
