KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday inclined by 19.97 points to close at 2,758.04 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,738.06 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,773.47 points in the first 35 minutes of trading. The index then dropped by around 10 points and went through nominal fluctuations for almost three hours. The market then declined to as low as 2,747.21 points in the last six minutes before it recovered around 11 points to close for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, however lost 1.50 points. In any case, the daily turnover increased to Rs 10.54 billion from Rs 8.83 billion on Sunday.
Four groups including development bank, finance, banking and others were the losers, while development bank shed the largest of 105.81 points in its index. Of the gainers, trading added the largest of 447.74 points, followed by hotels and tourism (345.32 points) and life insurance (255.76 points).
Among the individual companies, 126 were gainers while 111 lost in their market values. Nepal Finance Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 594.75 million.
Three companies including Taragaon Regency Hotel, Bishal Bazar Company and Khanikhola Hydropower Co Ltd were recorded as the topmost gainers. Nepal Finance Ltd, with a decline of 8.72 percent of its market price, lost the highest.
