Nepse escalates 44.30 points, daily turnover increases to Rs 1.518 billion on Monday

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday gained a whopping 44.30 points to close at 1,986.99 points.

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday gained a whopping 44.30 points to close at 1,986.99 points.


The secondary market opened at 1,942.68 points and went to an upward movement throughout the trading hours. Overall, the market gained 2.28 point percent.


The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also added a notable value of 7.73 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 1.518 billion from Rs 1.072 billion on Sunday.

All the 13 trading groups added in their market prices. Life insurance achieved a gain of 304.56 points, the highest of all. Non-life insurance, hotels and tourism, manufacturing and processing, and trading were recorded as gainers of three-digit points.


Among individual companies, the market values of 212 companies escalated, while 11 companies posted losses in their indices.


Salt Trading Corporation, with turnover of Rs 62.55 million, topped in terms of transaction volume. With a gain of 9.98 percent, Three Star Hydropower Limited was posted the highest among gainers. Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-2 dropped 7.43 percent of its market price.
