Cooperation for trade

The Indian withdrawal of transshipment facility granted to Bangladesh came into force on Tuesday, allegedly following remarks made by Bangladesh’s President Mohammed Yunus regarding India’s northeastern states. The decision aims to reduce congestion and logistical delays at Indian ports and airports, according to an MEA release.

The transshipment facility allowed Bangladesh to send goods through Indian ports and airports, including Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai, for export to third countries.
