KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday escalated 27.90 points to close at 2,058.00 points.
According to the NEPSE, the market that opened at 2,030.10 points initially plunged to the day’s low at 2,024.38 points in the first 40 minutes of the trading. However, the index increased by 23 points in the next 20 minutes. In the final 45 minutes of the trading hours, the index went uphill before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also inclined 3.76 points. The daily turnover amount increased marginally to Rs 4.048 billion from Rs 4.044 billion on Tuesday.
All the 13 groups were the gainers in the intraday trading. Non-life insurance surged 221.41 points, followed by hotels and tourism with 147.61 points and manufacturing and processing with 123.66 points.
Among individual companies, 209 were recorded as gainers whereas 30 companies were the losers.
Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited carried out the largest transactions of its shares worth Rs 266.39 million. Dibyashwori Hydropower Ltd added the highest of 10 percent of its market value. Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd was recorded as the highest loser.
