KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday increased marginally by 7.04 points to close at 1,967.83 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,960.78 points and hit day’s high at 1,977.96 points in the first 22 minutes. In the next moment, the index went to a straight fall and reached the day’s low at 1,946.72 points in the last one hour of the trading period. The market recovered around 21 points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also gained 1.09 points. The daily turnover however fell to Rs 1.099 billion from Rs 1.186 billion on Sunday.
Out of the 13 trading groups, only finance shed 0.44 points in the intraday trading. Of the remaining, life insurance had the highest gain of 55.92 points.
Among individual companies, the market values of 126 companies inclined up, while 89 had their share prices declined.
IME Life Insurance Company Limited, with a turnover of Rs 52.88 million, topped in terms of transaction volume. Three Start Hydropower Limited with adding 10 percent in its market value was the largest gainer. Liberty Energy Company Limited lost the highest of 9.98 percent of its market price.
