Nepal endorses Bhutan’s Sonam Tobgay for 16th SAARC secretary-general

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision at a press conference on Friday, saying all SAARC member states had agreed to Tobgay’s appointment.

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Nepal has endorsed Bhutan’s nominee, Dasho Sonam Tobgay, for the post of the 16th secretary-general of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

SAARC has eight member states: Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
