KATHMANDU, June 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday increased marginally by 7.79 points to close at 1,987.87 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,980.09 points and rose to the day’s high at 2,002.28 points in just 12 minutes of trading. The market then went on a series of fluctuations to hit as low as 1,972.53 points, before it rose again to close for the day.

In the intraday trading, 89 listed companies were successful in adding to their market values, while 126 companies registered as losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies also gained 2.83 points.
Six out of the 13 trading groups gained in their market values. Hotels and tourism, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, life insurance, banking and ‘others’ were among the gainers.
The daily turnover amount dropped to Rs 2.886 billion from Rs 3.454 billion on Sunday.
Among individual companies, Soaltee Hotel Limited having a turnover of its shares worth Rs 152.85 million topped in terms of the transaction amount. Aviyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the biggest gainer, while Prabhu Smart Fund lost the highest percent of its market price.
