KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday increased marginally by 3.04 points to close at 1,878.70 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,875.65 points and fell steeply to the day’s low at 1,857.28 points in the first 48 minutes of trading. However, the market gained around 13 points in the next one hour, while going down again in the next moment. In the last 45 minutes, the market escalated to regain its position.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies added 1.18 points. The daily turnover further declined to Rs 694.22 million from Rs 742.92 million on Sunday.
Three groups including manufacturing and processing, hotels and tourism, and mutual fund had their indices declined. Non-life insurance posted the largest gain of 83.21 points.
Among individual companies, the market values of 128 companies increased whereas 97 companies posted losses in their indices.
Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited Promoter Shares witnessed trading of Rs 36.074 million and stood at the top of the transaction volume list. Panchakanya Mai Hydropower gained the highest of 7.82 percent of its market price. Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited was the biggest loser with a decline of 10 percent in its market price.
